OTHER DIRECTORIES & COOPERATIVE INFO TOOLS

Here are some links to other directories and online information tools that have inspired our work with the Data Commons. We hope to make connections and build collaborations with many of these directory projects:

  • LocalHarvest  A beautiful and multi-functional directory of farmer's markets, community supported agriculture (CSA) farms and other local food sources in the U.S.
  • Communities Directory  An online directory of intentional communities. the Fellowship of Intentional Communities. In a spirit similar to the Data Commons, this directory is a collaborative effort between the Fellowship of Intentional Communities and the Cohousing Association of the United States.
  • Co-op Month Directory   A very large directory of diverse cooperatives in the U.S., sponsored by the National Cooperative Business Association (NCBA).
  • Community-Wealth.org   A site dedicated to highliting a diversity of successful, community-based economic development initatives across the U.S. Created by the Democracy Collaborative at the University of Maryland.
  • The Working World   An online store for purchasing goods from worker-run "recuperated" factories in Argentina.
  • Co-op Online Directory (UK)   A directory of cooperative in England, covering worker, consumer, producer, "second-tier" coops and support organizations.
  • Directory of International Solidarity Economy Networks   A directory maintained by the "Red de Redes de Economia Alternativa y solidaria" (the Network of Networks of the Alternative & Solidarity Economy), based in Spain. This site links to a variety of organizations and networks working across the globe to create "an economy and culture of solidarity." Note: this site is in Spanish
